Can’t stay asleep? Do you wake up between 2 and 3 a.m.?

What can help you stay asleep…

If waking up during that time of the night is unexplained, try eating a small protein snack sometime before you go to bed.  This may help stabilize blood sugar.  Spikes in blood sugar during the night can interrupt your natural sleep pattern as your body digests sugar.  Stay away from sugary snacks or carbohydrates before bedtime.  Additionally, keep cell phones, tablets, computers or anything that emits a signal, away from the bed, in another room, or preferably off.  These two simple lifestyle adjustments may help you stay asleep.   As always, seek additional help through Holistic Health assessments, Functional Diagnostic Nutrition and/or your medical doctor if the situation warrants.
